Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
Property Promoter ("we", "us", or "our") is a software platform and Chrome Extension that helps real estate agents market their listings across Facebook Marketplace and other channels. We are operated by Promote Properties LLC. Questions? Email us at bill@promoteproperties.com.
2. Information We Collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored as a one-way hash — we never store your plain-text password).
Zillow profile data: With your permission, we import your public Zillow agent profile including your agent name, headshot, brokerage, phone number, and active listing details (address, price, photos, description). This data is pulled from Zillow's public-facing pages.
Usage data: We log actions taken on our platform (e.g., listings promoted, tools used) to improve the service and enforce fair-use limits.
Payment information: Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number — Stripe handles all payment data under PCI-DSS compliance.
Chrome Extension activity: The extension reads Zillow listing pages you visit in order to extract property data, and interacts with the Facebook Marketplace listing-creation form to auto-fill your listing. We do not record your general browsing history.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you and manage your subscription
- To populate marketing tools with your listing and agent data
- To send transactional emails (welcome, listing alerts, repost reminders) via Postmark
- To enforce per-account usage limits and prevent abuse
- To improve the platform through aggregated, anonymised usage analytics
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising profiling.
4. Third-Party Services
We work with the following third-party providers to operate the platform. Each provider's privacy policy governs how they handle data passed to them:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Postmark — transactional email delivery
- Oxylabs — web data retrieval used to import listing information
- OpenAI / Google Gemini / Anthropic — AI-powered content generation; listing content may be sent to these services to generate copy
- Google Business Profile API — rank-tracking and profile management for subscribed users
- ClickSend — SMS messaging for admin use only
5. Chrome Extension Permissions
The Property Promoter Chrome Extension requests the following permissions:
- activeTab & scripting: Required to read listing data from Zillow pages you are actively viewing, and to auto-fill the Facebook Marketplace listing form. The extension only operates on
zillow.comandfacebook.com/marketplace/create/*— it does not access any other sites. - storage: Used to cache your session token locally so you don't need to log in every time you open the extension popup.
- host permissions for
zillow.com,facebook.com, andpropertypromoterpro.com: Required for the content scripts and API communication described above.
The extension does not read or transmit your general browsing history, passwords, or any data outside the Zillow and Facebook listing pages.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on the Replit platform. We use HTTPS for all data in transit, bcrypt hashing for passwords, and session-based authentication with secure cookies. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
7. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time by emailing bill@promoteproperties.com. We will fulfil verified requests within 30 days.
8. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies.
9. Children's Privacy
Property Promoter is intended for real estate professionals and is not directed at anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
